As the official inauguration ceremony of the Presidential Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is underway, some governors that are said to be allies of Nyesom Wike, the Rivers State governor, are absent at the event.

The Governors include Seyi Makinde of Oyo State; Samuel Ortom of Benue State; Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State. Wike, expectedly, was also not in attendance as he had earlier in September, announced his withdrawal from Atiku’s campaign.

The event, that’s taking place at International Conference Centre, Abuja on Wednesday, was attended by other PDP governors.

Atiku’s Presidential campaign is taking off amidst internal strife that many believe may impact negatively on the party’s fortunes.
