Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says he is in the 2023 presidential race to do what is right for Nigerians. In a tweet on Monday, the former Lagos governor said he is in the race to answer “a higher calling” which is his love for Nigeria.

“We are not here to do what is comfortable. We are here to do what is right for our people and our country. We are here to answer to a greater, higher calling. That calling is the love of Nigeria.” 

Since announcing his choice of running mate, Tinubu has faced criticism from Nigerians who feel he has excluded members of the Christian faith from getting the number two job in the country.
