The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project and five university students have filed a lawsuit against President Muhammadu Buhari over the prolonged strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

SERAP said, “We’ve sued the Buhari administration over its failure to meet ASUU’s legitimate demands. Students from Plateau State University, Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Port Harcourt, University of Uyo, and University of Ibadan joined the suit.”

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have been on strike for more than six months. They are seeking improved pay and conditions of service. They government is yet to agree or meet their demands.
