Authorities in Saudi Arabia have arrested a man from Yemen who went to perform the lesser Hajj (Umrah) for the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The Yemeni who has not been named, had published a short video on his social media handle showing himself standing in front of the Kaaba (Black Stone), praying for the late monarch’s soul to be reposed. He held a written text that read, “Umrah for Queen Elizabeth, I pray that Allah include her amongst His revered servants.”

It is against the Saudi law to hold a poster or a board depicting an image and chanting names other than those of Allah. It is also forbidden to perform Umrah for a non-Muslim.

The Saudis have not disclosed what the punishment for the Yemeni will be; but they say he will face the wrath of the law according to his offence.
