Real Sociedad football club have announced that Sadiq Umar, their forward, has undergone a successful surgery. Umar Sadiq sustained the injury whilst playing against Getafe on Monday.
Sadiq was diagnosed with a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament and was predicted not to play for the rest of the season.
In a statement released by the club his club says “Sadiq underwent surgery this morning. The operation was successfully carried out with no issues. He will remain in the hospital until Friday or Saturday, depending on his evolution.”
The Nigerian international joined the La Real this summer and has proven to be vital for the club in the three matches he has featured in.
