The National Chairman of, the Peoples Democratic Party, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu, will today Wednesday, begin a 14-day trip to Europe.

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the PDP Chairman, Simon Imobo-Tswam, made this known in a statement on Tuesday. Imobo-Tswam who did not disclose the reason for Ayu’s trip said the national chairman is expected back in Nigeria by the end of September.

Ayu is at the center of a dispute between Atiku Abubakar, the Party’s 2023 presidential candidate and Nyesom Wike, Rivers State Governor. Wike ran along with Atiku for the PDP presidential ticket, and lost. One of his conditions for supporting Atiku is sacking Ayu as Party Chairman. The dispute remains unresolved.
