The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Nigerians under the age of 40 will no longer be issued tourist visas to the United Arab Emirates.
In statement signed by Fransisca Omayuli on behalf of the federal ministry of foreign affairs, the FG stated that, “The general public is invited to note and be guided that the Government of the UAE has introduced a new visa regime and has stopped issuing tourist visas to persons under the age of 40 years, except for those applying for family visas.”
The UAE has in the past decade became both holiday and business destination to many Nigerians. The UAE government has been making stricter incremental changes to visa regulations for Nigerians – a move many see as an attempt to reduce the numbers of those over-staying in the popular Gulf State.
