NDLEA confiscate 26,600 bottles of ‘Akuskura’ in Kano, arrest producer

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested a notable producer of new psychoactive substance, popularly called Akuskura in Kano.

The consignment was seized on Thursday September 15 along Zaria-Kano road, Gadar Tamburawa, Kano while the producer, Qasim Ademola, 39-year-old, from Akinyele LGA, Oyo state and three of his distributors were arrested in follow up operations.

Recently, there has been a rapid emergence of a dangerous new psychoactive substance known as “akuskura”, which is made with herbs and tobbaco laced with cannabis, predominantly used in northern Nigeria.
