The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has confirmed five new cases of the Lassa fever virus in two states.
The agency via its official website stated that the states with the new confirmed infections were Ondo and Edo states.
The NCDC also disclosed that since the beginning of the year, a total of 6,392 suspected cases of the viral illness have been recorded in 25 states across 101 local government areas in the country.
