Piotr Zielinski put Napoli ahead from the spot, before Andre-Frank Anguissa and Giovanni Simeone capped a totally dominant first half by the Italians.
Zielinski completed his brace by notching the fourth for the Azzuri before Joe Gomez pulled one back for the Merseysiders.
