The Jigawa State government has appealed to the Federal Government, donor agencies and individuals to come to the aid of flood victims.
Executive Secretary, State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Yusuf Sani Babura, made the call while speaking to newsmen at Warwade Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Dutse Local Council.
He said the flood occurred after three-day persistent downpour, which resulted in submerging many villages across all the 27 Local Councils. Babura explained that the state government had established 13 IDP camps for the displaced victims.
Jigawa is one of the Northern states that has been worst hit by the heavy rains this season.
