Ibrahim Gusau has been elected as the new Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Gusau was the former Chairman of Chairmen of Nigerian football and a former member of the NFF. He was elected during the much-awaited Annual General Assembly of the NFF in Benin City on Friday.

Gusau had won the first round with 21 votes, but he could not be declared the outright winner because he had failed to get the required minimum of 22 votes.

A rerun was therefore called. Then other contestants – Seyi Akinwunmi and Shehu Dikko stepped down for Gusau. Thus after the rerun, Gusau polled 39 votes while Idah scored one vote.
