Halle Berry in History

20 years ago, Halle Berry made history by becoming the first Black woman to be awarded the best-actress Oscar

As well as Halle herself making history, her Elie Saab Fall 2001/2 gown was heralded by critics, and is now considered as one of the most notable Oscar dresses of all time. Elie Saab gifted this dress to the Museum in 2003 as part of our inaugural exhibition.
