Governor Atiku Bagudu has donated N100 million to the Hisbah in Kebbi State, because as he said, “The group has been in the forefront of preventing crime and criminality in the society.”

The donation was announced on Sunday in Birnin Kebbi by Mr Bagudu during fundraising for Hisbah as part of activities to mark its 20th anniversary.

On his part, the Emir of Gwandu, Muhammadu Bashar, reaffirmed the commitment of the Gwandu Emirate Council to support and cooperate with the Hisbah committee.

Hisbah is an Islamic doctrine referring to upholding “community morals”, based on the Quranic injunction to “enjoin good and forbid wrong. The group mainly exists in the predominantly Muslim northern Nigeria.
