Heavy rains across Nigeria have continued to cause floods in several parts of the country.
Recently, the Director-General, National Environment Management Agency (NEMA), Mr. Mustapha Ahmed, said that the agency had identified 233 local government areas in 32 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) which were predicted to experience flooding this year.
Meanwhile in Kano, Traders at the Kantin Kwari market, have decried the destruction of properties due to flooding. Many traders were seen evacuating clothing materials from their shops. Some traders attributed the disaster to lack of drainages, building on water ways as well the new flyover constructed near the market.
