Finidi resigns as Super Eagles boss

Super Eagles coach, George Finidi, has reportedly resigned after less than two months in charge. Finidi, who took over on April 29, 2024, aimed to help Nigeria qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

However, under his leadership, the team struggled, drawing 1-1 with South Africa and losing 2-1 to Benin Republic. These results left Nigeria in 5th place in their qualifying group.

On Saturday, news of his resignation spread on social media and was confirmed by various news outlets, though the exact reasons for his departure remain unclear.
