The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared as illegal, the body which has been administering the Nigeria Professional League for almost a decade.
In a press statement issued on Friday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ismaila Abubakar, the Federal Government says it will no longer recognize League Management Company (LMC) as an operator of the Nigerian Professional League.
The LMC, established since 2012 to operate the local professional league in Nigeria has in recent past, been engulfed in political and legal kerfuffles.
