The president of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Mansur Ahmed, decried that excessive reliance on imported raw materials has significantly weakened the manufacturing sector.
Speaking during the Apapa branch of the association’s annual general meeting in Lagos, Ahmed urged manufacturers to strengthen their ties with the public sector in order to develop the nation’s manufacturing infrastructure.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperative, Mrs Oluremi Ososanya, said the state government was ready to strike productive partnerships with manufacturers.
