Bandits reportedly blocked the Katsina-Jibia Road on Wednesday and kidnapped an unknown number of commuters. An eyewitness account said the attack occurred around 5pm at Kadobe village. 

The source said the more than twenty bandits who came on about six motorcycles, occupied the road and fired gunshots to scare commuters before they kidnapped the occupants of two vehicles. 

The witness claimed that security forces had been informed while the operation was going on but show up some 30 minutes after the attackers had left.
