Iyorchia Ayu, national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has described persons calling for his resignation as “children”.
Ayu has been under pressure of late, with calls for his resignation coming amid the party’s internal crisis. This statement is seen by some as a reaction to such calls, especially by Nyeson Wike.
Wike, who’s the governor of Rivers, has reportedly demanded sack of the PDP national chairman — as a precondition for resolving the rift between himself and Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate.
