374 academic programmes offered by the University of Ghana are unaccredited according to the 2021 Auditor-General’s report.
Of the 374, 14 are Diploma programs, and 80 are undergraduate programmes. Postgraduate programmes are 213 and 67 are PhD programmes.
According to reports by local media sighted by Africanews, “We noted that the University advertised 374 academic programmes on the various web portals that had the accreditation expired or required re-accreditation during the period under review.”
Ghanaian Universities are now popular destinations for Nigerian students. This is mainly because of the incessant strikes by university lecturers back home.
